In my observation, the people of Guinea have gained disproportionately from the commerce and mining sectors of Salone.

However, Guineans look toward Senegal, Ivory Coast, and Mali in terms of connectivity, eg. cultural closeness. While they welcome people from these countries, Sierra Leoneans are seen and treated as totally different and distant people.

I am not alone in this thought, former refugees have tons of stories to back this up.

But why?
