Sierra Leone: No Justice for Slain Journalist, One Year On

A year after the death of Ibrahim Foday, reporter of the Daily Exclusive Newspaper, no arrest, prosecution or trial has been meted out to the perpetrator(s) of this heinous crime.

In a statement issued by the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) on June 11, 2012, members of the association heightened their call on the Sierra Leonean authorities and the police service to ensure that justice is meted out to the perpetrator(s) of the crime.

"We are saddened that one year since the killing of Foday, the Sierra Leone Police Service are yet to bring his killer(s) to justice despite repeated assurances from senior members of the force", says Umaru Fofana, President of SLAJ.

Foday was allegedly stabbed by Tunde Williams on June 12, 2011, a driver of the head of Kossoh town near the capital Freetown, during a land dispute. Prior to his death, Foday had published series of critical articles on the dispute.

According to the Media Foundation for West Africa's (MFWA) correspondent, despite this knowledge, the police have failed to apprehend Williams.

Williams' act is alleged to have been aided by a serving member of the Sierra Leone Police who was briefly arrested and released by the police without charge or explanation.

"Such is the horrible circumstance under which journalists work here that when they are attacked, beaten by policemen or even killed no serious action is taken to bring the attackers or assailants to justice," added SLAJ President Umaru Fofana.

Meanwhile police have recently declared Tunde Williams wanted and put an amount of 50 million Leones (about $ 11,000 US) -bounty on his head.

According to SLAJ there will be a candle light memorial this week to mark the death of the journalist

What was the name of the slain Journalist?

Answer: Ibrahim Foday

What is his tribe?

Answer: Mende

Conclusion: This nar bof case. In present day Sierra Leone, as long as you have anything to do with Mende, there is no Justice for you.

Reference; Approximately five (5) years ago, one prominent Mende man, former employee of NRA Late Abdulai Mustafa was first unceremoniously suspended from office in the month that the current APC President was sworn into office. Six months later he was recall to his job after it was proven that he did not commit any criminal or disciplinary offence other than the fact that he had long term bones to pick with someone who had become the fountain of honour. The week he was to return to his post, he was hounded down by men neighbours to the deceased reported who were in a pickup van that resembles one from State House. The victim was killed and roasted with his girl Friend. The night watch man who escaped and reported to the Police the incident was found dead few days later. Even as of today, nothing absolutely came out of that case. The case file is missing from the police and law officers department. Abdulai Mustafa's crime for not receiving Justice, HE IS A MENDE MAN.

EBK is a cold blooded killer as evidenced by the way he allededly ordered the slaying of Abdul Mustapha and partner. He has also protected the killers and may be thinking that nar buff case. Does he really think people will forget that brutal double homicide? This dastardly act has become the hall mark of EBK led APC rule - kill people you have issues with and burn the bodies/evidence. The arson technique has been even used to destroy records in Youyi building.

May the soul of Abdul Mustapha and galfriend rest in peace.

Are you feeling OK? Satisfied with life?
I hope that this is comprehensible to you:
I notice that you've managed to leave
me out it
out of your bad-mouth wash & lasmami this time
this time you must have been feeling dizzier with me
no longer your main side target
me now
slightly out of focus
no longer your main aim
