BINTUMANI FORUM

After all, if every economic issue is framed as a struggle between a hard-working white middle class and undeserving minorities, then workers of all shades will be left fighting for scraps while the wealthy withdraw further into their private enclaves - Barack Obama

NGC has totally taken Koinadugu by storm as another APC strong man, son of koinadugu with massive following, Peter Agbangha Konteh , commonly known as Agass , former Koinadugu PAC chairman, and tourist & cultural minister, officially declares for the NGC . Agass who some call the godfather of APC in Kabala has today officially declared for NGC, and his followers joined him to show their support for his decision stay tuned for more details.

You may be right. It is a numbers game. Yumkella has the momentum, he is  the attractive change candidate. He  will take the western area 20%. To make the  second round, he will need another 15% from the APC and SLPP strongholds in the North and South.

He has three months to convince the voters in these areas. Will be very interesting.

“He will take the western area 20%” - Kamara

@Kamara, do you mean he’ll clinch only 20% of the Westrn Area vote or win the Western Area vote with 20% more than the second place candidate? Example KKY 45, Samura 25, Bio 24, others 6.

In my opinion he’ll have to decisively win the Western Area, and finish a strong second in the north to make the runoff. I don’t see him clinching up to 15% in the south-east.

"Yumkella has the momentum, he is  the attractive change candidate. He  will take the western area 20%..."  Kamara

Yumkella has the momentum to his followers.  His followers are boisterous and talkative.  They make themselves more visible especially in the Western Area and the Diaspora.  But if you go to the South or the East, you will hardly find anybody who is interested in a Yumkella presidency.  I also disagree that Yumkella will take the Western Area.  The Western area is a toss up.  It can fall to either Yumkella, Bio or Samura Kamara.  The demographics in the Western Area has changed drammatically over the last five years with many Southeasterners now calling the Western Area home.  They will turn out in large numbers to vote for Maada Bio, which might just tip the scale in favor of the Brigadier.  Alternatively, since there has not been any mass influx of Temnes and Limbas to the NGC, Samura Kamara might win the Western Area.

Spectator, You are right , Yumkella will take the Western area decisively. If his votes in the Western area come out to approximately 20% of the total votes cast., he will need to peel away another 14% - 15% in the APC and SLPP strongholds outside the western area to reach the 34% required to make it to the second round in a three man race..

Kamara,

Spectator did not say that Yumkella will win the Western Area.  He said Yumkella WILL HAVE TO WIN THE WESTERN AREA. Big difference my friend.  I wonder why some of you guys believe that Yumkella will win the Western Area.

We forget one salient fact, i.e the Western Area is really a major part of the North, with a majority of Thaimnehs. In fact, most Thaimnehs adamantly call it RoKiamp, and not Freetown. It has always been a strategic part of the APC's electoral calculus. Because of the reality of Salone's ethnic politics which equates Thaimnehs and the Northwest to APC, and Mendes and the Southeast to SLPP, it looks like all the chickens in the West coming home to Ordoryoh Samura in the elections. Kandeh will be hard-pressed to create a tremor in the Western Area unless he comes up with a solution to our intractable tribal politics. Nar so me see am O!

Fen Plaba,

Kandeh Yumkella and the NGC are a mirage.  They will not win any region.
