Eventhough Bio stands to be excruciatingly trounced by the APC in November, for the good image of the nation however, and for the SLPP,they should muster the courage of conviction and moral fortitude to admit the fact that the very thought of him wanting to lead the party and the nation is morally reprehensible and that it was a mistake on the part of the party elders not to have talked him out of the contest and should now do the honorable thing by voluntarily withdrawing his candidacy to save the SLPP and the nation further trauma.
This should follow with a draft movement to get another candidate with less baggage to take on the APC leadership. There is window of opportunity for the SLPP to do self-policing now by just dumping this undesirable fellow.

My instincts are Bio will not lead the SLPP to the polls. The uproar against him is just too loud for the SLPP leadership not to eventually pay attention to their flawed process in producing a contender. There’s no way Bio can surmount all these odds and be victorious in 2012-it is practically impossible in today’s world. Perhaps I am wrong but I have never known a presidential challenger with so much conflict-ridden issues in Sierra Leone. Because SLPP wants a “REDEEMER” that will carry them to victory riding on a white horse, they put together the myth about Bio’s greatness. Maybe it’s because he is the last one standing from Sierra Leone’s gruesome leadership past. However, Bio can practice all the black magic and do whatever boils his cassava but he cannot escape the justice of God and outright rejection outside his clannish clique. A selective few of SLPPers might be under his spell but the general Sierra Leonean public is not. Before Election Day even those with Sebehs, Juju, and what have you will lend their voices to the outcry against Bio. The God of Sierra Leone is actively involved in deciding who leads Sierra Leone next-his name is emphatically not Julius Maada Bio. When the SLPP produce a valid winner, be assured that some of us will say, “He or She is the one.” Leading to 11/17/12, if the SLPP fail to rescind Bio’s candidacy, they stand the chance of losing its trustworthiness in Sierra Leone.

What is seriously troubling here Ohtham is for the SLPP fat cats to treat the existential problems facing the nation with such reckless disregard for objectivity. One will have thought that they will put forward a candidate totally unencumbered by infractions of principles and menial disputations to mount credible challenge to the planless and unsound leadership of EBK and all of a sundden they put forward such unsavory miscreant and expect the citizens to invest him with executive authority. It is really sad. Ohtham, please have merry christmas and let us debate the issues with civility and agreee to disagree without descending to Big Market mentality. Hello Brother Kutubu. Don't mind that sarcastic fellow using the moniker of APC. He is really an SLPP greengory who is annoyed with you, and is trying to egg you into a confrontation with APC. All fair-minded forumites, both APC and SLPP, know that you are a man of principles whose only agenda is the welfare, prosperity, rule of law and democratic ideals of our beloved Sierra Leone. BTW, I enjoyed your use of humor to deflect the so-called APC borbor.

MKK - I think it will be most foolish, and indeed a travesty of democratic principles and justice, for SLPP to consider the idea of rescinding Bio's presidential election victory.
SLPP's presidential candidacy election was held in accordance with their Constitution, and within the spirit of the Supreme Court's decision, following the injunction won by Dr. Bubuake Jabbie.
APC has never in their history, been subjected to such legalistic rigour and introspection!
All of the candidates, prior to the election accepted the polling rules, without any protest whatsoever. Furthermore, the PPRC did not have problems with the conduct of the elections either.
That the overwhelming majority of the delegates voted for Bio is not the question we should be asking, since they have merely exercised their democratic rights.
Perhaps what the party should be concerning itself with at the stage, is the need to get their manifesto and campaign strategy into gear early next year.
Those who say that Bio is a criminal, have woefully failed to prosecute, have him charged to court, or investigated for wrong-doing. And this makes their case against the chap very weak - to a point of sounding vindictive.
We must stop this politics of calumny and malice, and rise above pettiness.
The stakes are too high in Sierra Leone, especially for the 80% of the population that have to make do with less than $1 a day and possibly one-square meal a day.
The rank and file of the opposition SLPP have spoken. They have democratically chosen their presidential candidate for next year's elections. Whether we like it or not, it is highly unlikely that, - and indeed foolish, for the party to rescind that decision.
What we want to see, is a clean and healthy democratic competition between EBK and Bio in 2012 - and may the best man win!!

Bra Art,Methinks this saga smacks like a chapter lifted directly out of the occupy wall street movent wherein well intentioned people are resolved to make certain constitutional changes in a system outside of due process. I assume that the rules and regulations for the flagbearer process are formulated during the convening of the party's electoral board before the convention and we cannot unwisely force the cart before the horse. So what is the justification for members modifying rules at midstream of the process even when no provisions exist in the party’s constitution to do so? I think that If any member feels so strongly about the party’s position, that individual(s)is obligated to adhere to party discipline and work to resolve things internally first?? And, if a resolve becomes impossible, their option is to resign like HindoloTrye and join APC or form their own party like Charles Margai in a mould they envision would be devoid of all the SLPP contradictions they have problems with. However, in a case like now where the flagbearer has been chosen and the campaign has shifted into high gear,it is imprudent for party members to demand arbitrary rule change because that clearly undermines the political platform of the party in addtion to hampering it's focus upon the APC opponent. SLPP Members must understand that, the Party clearly reserves the right to deal with what it deems undue sabotage with every legal instrument in it’s arsenal including expulsion. And,according to the constitution,an expelled a member like a resigned member immediately forfeits the rights and privileges to participate in all party matters. Just because as a rule, rights and obligations are reciprocally enforced, the premier obligation of party members must be to abide by party rules, and no member can expect to enjoy the rights and privileges of membership without first fulfilling their obligations. I know some people will misconstrue this as a threat to disaffected members,.. but it is most certainly not… because my sole purpose is to only to reinforce the principle of party discipline at this crucial time of campaigning...nothing more..nothing less!

ART, I read about people going into a trance in worshipful loyalty of Adolf Hitler, who was democratically elected as the leader of the National Socialists; this even after objective people warned them that Hitler was going to be an unmitigated disaster for Germany. Your sophistry, on behalf of Bio, is reminiscent of that dark era. If you guys keep Bio as your leader, as is your right, SLPP will be so crushed in the 2012 election that it will cease to be a viable national party. It will have to take another treasonous coup for it to taste power again.

Not so fast Art.
Let us presume that we are all seeking the interest of Sierra Leon- the land that we love. With that in mind, let us ask ourselves whether the interest of Sierra Leone is served by the manner in which the SLPP flag bearer election was conducted.
JEL has revealed and many have buttressed his point that there was a gag order that prevented candidates for flag bearer to criticize one another. That gag order is a disservice to the delegates/voters because it limited their ability to effectively rate the candidates on the relevant criteria for determining who is best for the highest office in our land- the land that we love. It therefore renders the process with a high probability of voting a square peg in a round hole. And when that happens, the interest of Sierra Leone is not served and democracy has not worked well.
One of the dangers of such a reckless manipulation of the democratic process is that it could lead to the selection of a Hitler like personality or a Saj Musa type personality due to ignorance that could have been prevented. And that could be costly.
The effect on the elections for the SLPP flag bearer was that it was reduced to a popularity contest. With Berewa and Charles Margai who were first and second in the previous elections for flag bearer not in the race, the most popular candidate was Bio who came third. It does not take a genius to do the math and to come up with an accurate prediction that in popularity contest the candidate who had already bagged 33 delegates in the previous flag bearer elections has an undue advantage and would likely win.
I submit that the architect of this plan intended for Bio to win. They sold out the SLPP and sold out Sierra Leone. These guys are the wretched of the earth.

AFK - my brother, stop raising your blood pressure, because after all your chest thumping, teeth gnashing and head thumping - Bio is going no where until after the 2012 elections - I don't think.
The delegates of the party made their decision - freely and fairly - according to the Constitution of their party. Both the Supreme Court and the PPRC are satisfied with the process and outcome.
Now what say you?:
JEL has revealed and many have buttressed his point that there was a gag order that prevented candidates for flag bearer to criticize one another. It therefore renders the process with a high probability of voting a square peg in a round hole. And when that happens, the interest of Sierra Leone is not served and democracy has not worked well." --------------------------------------- AFK, with all due respect to my good friend JEL, I cannot understand what all the 'kaforfull' is about: 1. Assuming there was a gag order imposed on candidates; that JEL went along with that order and signed up to the leadership electoral rules, raises serious question as to why his passion for democratic freedoms, justice, due process and fairness, did not task him sufficiently, so as to publicly blow the whistle right at the start of the election process. Dr. Jabbie did it - why didn't JEL? 2. Whatever the shortcomings of SLPP's leadership electoral process (bearing in mind that no election is perfect), most democrats would rather engage with that process than APC's leadership election sham. The election of EBK to lead their party was nothing other than a 'beauty contest' designed and bankrolled by a handful of wealthy and powerful politically aspiring wannabes - (many of whom were new to the party - now serving as ministers of are beneficiaries of the party's 2007 election victory). The voice of the old guards of the party were cast into oblivion, despite a bitter court action. EBK knows full well that he ought not to have been leading the party into the 2012 general elections, if not for the gerrymandering, unconstitutional and procedural machinations, which took place at the Makeni convention. Inevitably, following that convention and the series of high level chin wags (meetings) - chaired by the elders of the APC party - cracks were plastered, wounds and bruises were covered up with bandages, broken egos were massaged - all in the name of unity within the party and a collective devotion to kicking SLPP from office in 2007. I understand that political propaganda is part and parcel of electioneering. But when one tries to denigrate or call time on another party, we need to be confident that we are not exposing our own shortcomings. None of the parties in Sierra Leone can boast of a near perfect organisational and constitutional arrangements and procedures. They are all lacking in many ways. But this is all part of the development of our democracy. Hopefully, all parties will be able to learn from their mistakes. The electorate will (with time) become more discerning and savvy as regards their support for political parties in general and politicians in particular. So take it easy my brother and stop raising your blood pressure over the outcome (a forgone conclusion) of SLPP's leadership election. chill out!Lol

Because we know that the stranger’s purpose is to be allowed free access to the food and drinks at the Ceremony..That’s all! So let me call AFK out in his ongoing interfering in SLPP matters.! ,. AFK may have acquired a lot of APC’s crooked ways as an “Old APC Pekin”, however his undue meddling and incitement are assuredly insufficient to demolish the aspirations of our SLPP organization Just yesterday he was proudly proclaiming his Christian faith.. But it appears as if the APC Rev Kabbs Kanu may have deleted Mathhew7:5 from the APC Bible AFK is reading for inspiration. That passage reads “ Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.” Funnily, the Christian AFK posits a moral interest in saving SLPP from embarrassment and has not yielded to the standards of his faith. ,.That AFK the christian cannot be abashed by APC having ..”Vouchergate Viktor Foh” as APC Party Chairman, .. …or sell Embassy Tom Obaleh as Communications Board official… or the infamous Chriso John who led SSD to systematically beat up and rape students at FBC in 1977 as NSC member. Let us put our partisan hats away and compare the Sierra Leonean,
Ernest Koroma based on his records: (1) as a student at FBC (in terms exceptional intelligence/academic performance), (2) a worker and manager at RITCORP, including the history of rise to this position and the history of the company itself; (3) His reported association with AFRC and the westside boys during his RITCORP and MP days (part of which were the war period); (4) the role he played in the sale of the Libya Rice donation while serving as an MP during the Kabbah era, (5) the way he has tribalized and presided over the ruination of the country and economy in the last four years as president (6) his personal moral discipline, especially his attitude to womanization, clientelism and reckless expenditure to the the Sierra Leonean, Julius Bio based on his records as: (1) an NPRC Minister; (2) an NPRC Head of State; (3) as a student in France and America(in terms exceptional intelligence/academic performance), (4) as a returnee businessman; (5) his personal moral discipline especially his attitude to womanization, clientelism and reckless expenditure Also compare: (A) the APC policy environment in which Ernest is governing Sierra Leone and may continue to do so in the event of his victory to (B) the SLPP policy environment in which Julius Bio may govern Sierra Leone in the event of his victory. If you do your homework well and you are sincere, you will come to realise that is a far better option for Sierra Leone than t to gamble on a Bio leadership of Sierra Leone between 2012 and 2017 o . gamble on the contnuity of an Ernest Koroma leadership
Comparison should be the real debate for an educated voter to make a judgement. One way to start comparing the two is to gather all the media and internet clips against Julius and compare substantive evidences presented in them with the evidences presented in all the media and internet clips against Julius. Compare for example the violence perpetrating nature alleged of Julius Bio/NPRC/SLPP with the violence perpetrating nature alleged of Ernest Bai Koroma/AFRC/APC based on police/commission of enquiry records. Another approach could be coming up with 9-10 authoritative leadrship criteria and credentials and demonstrate where Ernest is superior to Julius or vice versa!
Again if you do your homework well and you are sincere, you will come to realise that is a far better option for Sierra Leone than t to gamble on a Bio leadership of Sierra Leone between 2012 and 2017 o . gamble on the contnuity of an Ernest Koroma leadership Mere declaration without evidence that Ernest is good and Bio is bad or Bio is good and Ernest is bad will lead no where!!!!!!
Any Sierra Leonean who refrains from comparison to make compartmentalized judgement can hardly be taken seriously by those who are not emotionally intoxicated.

Agba Peter, Analyze This! Of course the NPRC had no choice but to get by with a makeshift military tribunal because the nation's courts had become dysfunctional due to years of undue APC political activism. So,It is only those shameless APC “rebranders” who will contend that perverted justice was not the prevailing mores that characterized the judiciary of Sierra Leone when Bio and other took over in 1992. So what is the logical point of clamoring “extrajudicial” during the period when Sierra Leone's judicial system was politically compromised and putrescence????? And if you don't know the establisment of special courts by the International community is primarily to address the issues of judicial dysfuntion in failed states like Sierra leone Ya!

Dr. Jabbie did it - why didn't JEL?" The rule prohibiting any FB aspirant from criticizing another was designed to avoid a divisive campaign so that a post-convention reconciliation would not be difficult. This sounded reasonable to me. The problem was that two aspirants took upon themselves to deliberately lie about their records. Many complained to NEC but all such complaints fell on deaf ears. Yes, Jabbie sued to block those whose terms of office had expired to continue in office. That was a straightforward issue. In the process, he turned delegates against him for doing the correct thing. But consider this also: besides this single situation, when has Dr. Jabbie or any other FB aspirant - other than JL - ever taken the lead to challenge wrongdoing in the party or country? I am aware that I am frequently in front sticking out my neck to call attention to improper party activities. In the process, I had accumulated a formidable array of powerful but nation-wrecking, money-grubbing opponents. On this occasion, I wanted another to do the honors.
