BINTUMANI FORUM

After all, if every economic issue is framed as a struggle between a hard-working white middle class and undeserving minorities, then workers of all shades will be left fighting for scraps while the wealthy withdraw further into their private enclaves - Barack Obama

Bra Specky,
The aim of making pledges like this is to gain more support. If the support he already enjoyed is sufficient for him to win the presidency then there's no need to get himself muddled up with 'difficult to explain' proposals. I believe politics is a game of numbers, the man himself realised this that's why he made this pledge to woo more support. Unfortunately, he was unable to express himself and ended with the same percentage of support as before if not worse.

Eddie Grant,

You have the guts to criticize Maada Bio but you fail to realize how poorly educated you are.  You are in the habit of writing grammatically incorrect English yet you believe that you have the moral high ground to criticize others.

Bio has a Master's degree from a university that will never admit Eddie Grant to pursue a certificate course.  Look, Bio is not going to be judged by any interviews that he avails himself to.  He is going to be judged in March 2018 by how much he loves his country and by how prepared he is to turn his country around from the despicable level of development that the APC with the support of Eddie Grant has dumped it.

@Eddie G: Even though your candidate comes across as the most articulate and charismatic of major candidates running, Samura and Maada have a huge advantage your candidate doesn’t enjoy; and that is, a political machine that provides footsoldiers for a ground game. They can afford to blunder while your man can’t. He is the underdog in this election.

Getting your message out to the undecided depends a lot more than using social media, granting interviews on BBC, and on. Don’t get me wrong, those things help, but in the larger scheme of things, the backing of an established party that has countless well informed volunteers is more important.

In my opinion, with time running out, if NGC is to spring a surprise and make it to the runoff, they need to have a very solid GROUND GAME that is second to none.

BFP,
there's no need to be angry. This is not a question of my ability to write good grammar, afterwards I did not stick my neck out for the presidency. Bio can have a PhD or Mph degrees, the bottom line is he's unfit for President.
If you go to state house without a clear plan of how to tackle the enormous challenges ahead, as he has already shown then I fear that he'll be chased out by angry mobs.

Bra Specky,
You have a point but that's in retrospect. The mindset of our people today is completely different from yesterday. We're seeing how SLPP and APC are losing their support base to Kandeh. Kenema is currently divided between NGC and SLPP whilst Koinadugu and Tonkolili are turning up for the progressives.
Please keep your ears and eyes opened in January.

Eddie Grant,

Have you forgotten that Maada Bio has been an occupant of State House before?  He is the only presidential candidate with head of state experience.  Please leave your advice for your neophyte candidate, Kandeh Yumkella.  He will need it badly.
You call that experience?

Eddie, residents of Kenema might turn out for any political party that  rally in the township. However, the people of Kenema have experienced a bitter lesson the last time they were cowed into supporting a flamboyant candidate in the person of the PMDC leader Charles Margai just because they were annoyed with the with the SLPP establishment in Freetown.

It took four years and with the intervention of the late JBD to switch to the APC before their sons and daughters started getting mire promotions  in the public sector and government.

This time round, we will not be fooled. Let Kandeh converts his home district Kambia. Kenema is for Bio and the SLPP who we can identify with whether he speaks pidgin or not.

Day dream all you want. Even the APC will pull more votes in Kenema than the NGC. Mark my word!

Trump approach and doubled down
with whatever he said."

Specky, besides not having the answer, the fellow appeared like a man who lacks confidence in himself. He appeared very nervous and unstable throughout the interview. This became obvious when he was asked that free education is not cheap or too expensive and where the money will come from. His response the the question exposed him of not being fit to rule a nation that needs real leadership.

Being head of state for three months, get a degree and become an agent for cocoa farmers does not make him presudential material. The fellow is phony like a $3 bill. The only reason he is a standard bearer is because tribal politics is the name of the game in Sierra Leone.

Maada is a hustler, we cannot afford to send him to state house. Electing a broke and incompetent hustler is akin to entrusting a peanut barn to a squirrel.

Ishmael Yillah,

How many former heads of state are dong a 9 to 5 job?

The Gambian head of state, Adama Barrow, studied real estate (a certificate course) while working as a security guard in London.  He is also a polygamist with two wives.  Politics is all about likability.  If you are liked, you get elected.

I have observed that those of you on this forum who can barely put together a grammatically correct sentence in English are the ones criticizing  Maada Bio, a Ph,D candidate.  I think you guys are better off going back to secondary school to learn how to write.  But be rest reassured that Maada Bio will bet elected president of Sierra Leone in March 2018.

Adama Barrow was and still a real estate developer in Banjul, but what has Maada done for himself in the past 22 years?

BFP, you and I knows fully well that Mr. Bio is the least qualified candidate for the presidency in Sierra Leone but you tribal hegemony and partisan politics has placed a cloud over your conscience. I suggest you drop the pipe and come back to reality because Maada will never win in any presidential election in Sierra Leone.

Ishmael Yillah,

If you believe that Maada Bio will never win the presidency, there is nothing I will say that will convince you otherwise.  The only advice I have for you as your compatriot is that you go back to school and learn how to write.  Your writing skills are horrible, which makes any attempt at interacting with you an intellectual level very difficult.

In politic, educated voters make decisions based on several factors. Voters' experience with a political party, a party's ideological beliefs and the type of candidates a party normally produces, are some of the factors that could influence politically conscious voters. Experience tells me that northern candidates are usually not good for Sierra Leone. I am sick and tired of enduring one incompetent northern candidate, after the other. Buffoons like Joseph Saidu Momoh and idiots like EBK have left trails of ravages on our political scene. I am with the Brigadier. The presidency is not particularly new to Bio. The man has also laid his life on the line for Sierra Leone to fight a war that couldn't have erupted in a properly-governed country. In politics, every candidate carries some risks. In this case, I am willing to take chances with Bio. My relatives and acquaintances are voting for Bio, thanks to my persistent messages. Bio for president.

This is the typical Mendeman's perception about education. "Putting together a grammatically correct sentence" makes him an educated man.  No surprise Bio, with his so-called Mende-type education,  lacks critical thinking skills.

The obsession with Mendes on this forum has turned into hatred. Assuming the writer to whom Olu responded is Mende, what is wrong with adhering to high, academic standards? Did I not read a series of statements on this forum criticizing Maada Bio for not allegedly displaying academic and analytical skills during a BBC interview? Are high academic standards only unacceptable when promoted by Mendes?  Dear Olu, did your Creole kinsmen not use academic achievement as an excuse to monopolize the civil service in Sierra Leone? Why should Mendes not use the same  rule to reject mediocrity and promote enlightenment in Sierra Leone?  Olu, your hatred of Mendes stinks, the same way your sense of inferiority rages, within your small mind.

"The obsession with Mendes on this forum has turned into hatred. Assuming the writer to whom Olu responded is Mende, what is wrong with adhering to high, academic standards?"

There is nothing wrong with high academic standards which, of course, is a far cry from the writer to whom Olu responded to.  A man like you, of willful ignorance, that believes, according to him, "Putting together a grammatically correct sentence" makes someone an educated person. Or, as stated by you, "adhering to high, academic standards?" Any jack and jill can construct grammatically correct sentences yet lacks critical thinking. This is exactly what many observers saw in the Bio interview.

So please excuse me no one is obsessed with Mendes on this forum. If anything, it is the Mendes that are obsessed with others by constantly making negative statements about their education. Unfortunately for them, they are being outsmarted by the very APC politicians they considered as "half baked". You people need prayers!

Olu,

You are a tribalistic bastard who is not fit to interact with folks in any decent community.  On the one hand, you criticize Maada Bio's analytical skills but on the other, you are all too ready to uphold the street corner value system that you grew up in and admire without any limits.

How did you come to the conclusion that the "Bio for president" moniker belongs to a Mende forumite?

It is societal dregs of your ilk that have polluted and destroyed that country that we all call home.  Look, aspiring to become a head of state does not require acing an interview.  Some of the best politicians in the world have made errors of judgment in public interviews.  In the end what matters is popularity and political gravitas.

         CORRECT STATEMENT

Ishmael,

I have corrected your poor English grammar.  But I am not here to teach you English. Your teachers in Conakry, Guinea were expected to do that for you.  Now, go back to them and ask for a refund of the fees that you paid.

CORRECT STATEMENT

BFP, you and I know fully well that Mr. Bio is the least qualified candidate for the presidency of Sierra Leone.  However, your tribal hegemony and partisan politics have placed a cloud over your conscience. I suggest that you drop the pipe and come back to reality because Maada will never win any presidential election in Sierra Leone.
