Just heard it’s AKK (Keili not Abdul K).
No surprises here.

This is not surprising as it may have been the reason why AKK joined the NGC. But can AKK deliver the Southeastern vote? I don't think so. AKK cannot crack the formidable SLPP machine in the Southeast. Give NGC 2% of the presidential votes in the Southeast and zero parliamentary seats.

And finally the second Mende man party is born! The Mendes are replicating their tactics that gave birth to the rebel war.
In the rebel war scenario, they used a Temne man called Foday Sankoh whose ties to the southeast was no hidden secret. After achieiving their objectives, they found a subtle way of getting rid of him without leaving any traces. Now they are using a megalomaniac Susu man in KKY to lead their second brainchild aka the NGC as a plan B in their latest move to mark the end of their political ramadan in the State House. In case Bio fails ,the NGC will make headway and if they clinch the presidency, KKY's days are already numbered. He will either be transformed into a fetish vegetable or bite the dust under mysterious circumstances thus paving the way for a Mende man Andrew Keilli. The NGC is the most Mende-dominated party after the SLPP. So Susu people open your eyes as the Naija man says.

When a politician fails, he/she resorts to tribalism. But this time round, no fear mongering will stop Sierra Leone from moving forward.

NGC The SLPP Replica,
That strategy will NOT work with these guys.
Reply with quote #8
NGC The SLPP Replica is Musa Kenema. He is disappointed that his candidate, Alpha Khan, the Temne man from Port Loko, did not get the APC candidacy. It went to a Loko man by the name of Samura Kamara. Kamara is from Bombali but he attended Mende schools in the Southeast and is married to a Mende woman.
Kandeh Yumkella is a Susu man who attended a Mende school, and is married to a Mende woman. Moreover, Kandeh has chosen a Mende running mate. Musa Kenema, the tribalist, feels very insecure with these developments and has no choice but to use tribalism to stoke fears into the political process. This guy will never change.
Reply with quote #9
@Teacher Conteh: I am sure you are aware that the NGC running mate Engr Keili is married to a Loko woman.
Reply with quote #10
Yes. She is Loko but she was born and raised in Bo. She is the daughter of the late Teacher Kargbo who was a long time resident of Bo and principal of St. Andrews (UCC) Secondary School in Bo. Culturally, the lady is not Loko.
Reply with quote #11
@Teacher Conteh- Agreed that culturally she isn’t but neither is Samura culturally a northerner. In Salone politics folks sometimes people are packaged to fit a certain culture...and if they play the part well, they are accepted.
Reply with quote #12
Agreed. But the difference between Samura Kamara and AKK's wife, I believe her name is Helen, is that Samura spent part of his formative years in the North. He came to Bo to attend secondary school (I stand corrected). On the other hand, AKK's wife was born and raised in Bo. She is a Bo Town girl. As a student of UCC, we used to pull pranks on AKK whenever he showed up on our campus to see the lady. Her father was the principal and was a very strict man. I doubt if Helen ever spent even a week in the North. Packaging AKK's wife as a Northerner may backfire in the same way packaging Momodu Koroma as a Northerner backfired in 2007. AKK's wife hangs out in Southeastern circles. That is her cultural identity.

Specky why do you think such strategy will not work? If it worked for Goodluck why not for Keilli? It is just a pity that the NGC will not win the presidency or else I would have told you to take note of this thread which will serve as a suitable reference for post elections happenings.
And Teacher Conteh why should academic institutions in Bo be dubbed 'Mende schools'? Man you need to get over such tribalistic mode of thinking. Infact what makes them 'Mende schools'? You see the problem with crude Mende boys of your ilk? Yet when people brand Mendes as tribalistic people you will start jumping all over the place thumping your chest like boisterous wunday processionists.
Reply with quote #15
NGC The SLPP Replica AKA Musa Kenema,
They are Mende schools because they exist in Mendeland, were created through the efforts of Mende people, the teachers are overwhelming Mendes and so are the student bodies. I am Mandingo-Temne but I attended one of these Mende Schools - Saint Andrews Secondary School AKA UCC in Bo. Next question?
Reply with quote #16
Who really are the tribalists here? Those who are focused on the tribe of the vice president select, the wives of whomsoever is involved in the process, which Temne is not selected, or the message from the presidential candidate himself? It is 2017 and for goodness sake
THE MESSAGE IS WHAT MATTERS MOST NOT THE TRIBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply with quote #17
For the record, Samura Kamara is neither Loko nor Limba. He speaks none of these languages, and neither his parents.
Reply with quote #18
Kamalo Boy please use a pneumatic power drill to drive that into dull Teacher Conteh's thick skull. Teacher Conteh is a Temne wannabe but still yet to get out of his Mende tribalistic cocoon. Samura is Temne to the core and this is a natural fact that cannot be changed by anyone. Teacher Conteh you either deal with this face-striking truth or die a frustrated truth-indigent pauper.

“It is 2017 and for goodness sake THE MESSAGE IS WHAT MATTERS MOST NOT THE TRIBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” HRH KL
In an African country...message important pass tribe for win election?
Even in the US ethnicity, gender, religion of candidates matters.
Message, tribe, religion etc all matter. Which one matters most in order to win elections in Salone is debatable. You think it is the message but do voters on the ground think it is?
Reply with quote #22
Specky, change of voting patterns is at the top of the list to bring positive changes in Sierra Leone. I don't only think so, I know so and everyone on this forum knows so. But please do not compare Salone to the US where there are multiple reasons that can that can swing an election. Remember the phrase, Reagan Democrats, the recent Alabama senatorial election, two terms of Barack Obama and "the economy, stupid"? In salone tribe is not everything, it is the only thing. So the question is when are we going to learn and stop complaining about the Temne, Limbs and Mende voted that haven't served us well and probably will never serve us well?
Reply with quote #23
You are blaming Sierra Leoneans for something that only has an explanation in sociology - that folks tend to gravitate toward other folks that they share a common identity with. Spare me this nonsense of belonging to a tribe called Sierra Leone. Sierra Leone is not a tribe. It is a country and those that belong to this country are Sierra Leoneans, a nationality. Yet Sierra Leone is made up of about fifteen tribes. Do you expect a koranko to always gravitate towards a Limba simply because they both belong to Sierra Leone? Similarly, voting patterns will take the same course. Do you expect a Mende man to vote for KL, a Temne, who has adopted a habit of looking at Mendes with derision? I don't think voting along tribal lines has anything to do with tribalism. Folks should vote for folks that they share a lot with, folks that will represent their best interests.
