BINTUMANI FORUM

After all, if every economic issue is framed as a struggle between a hard-working white middle class and undeserving minorities, then workers of all shades will be left fighting for scraps while the wealthy withdraw further into their private enclaves - Barack Obama

Let's face it, when it comes to competitiveness, culture, diversity, education, population and wealth, Sierra Leoneans in the DMV are top rated. We work hard, we play hard, and, this is what makes us unique among the Sierra Leonean diaspora.

Yes I am in one of them. I shot these videos with my phone concentrating on the crowd. This one, and over 20 of them,  was organized  by a social club named SLPU. This is a yearly event every July 4th. and the clubs is staging these events for fundraising.

I lived in Tennessee, New Jersey and New York. And over the years I have visited many other states but I will not trade this place for any other state or city. We are living here bro! This is the place where discipline and hard work guarantees the American dream.

KL,

I will not argue with you if you are making a statement that addresses only how your personal circumstances changed for the better when you moved to the DMV.  It happens.  But if you are trying to make an objective statement that compares  life in general in the places that you have lived, then I will ponder to ask you the question:

On what leg are you standing to make that comparison?

Are you out of your mind to compare the DMV to New York?  Where in New York did you live?  And what did you do in New York?  Do you think calling New York City the financial capital of the world is for nothing?  You must be out of your fre....king mind comparing New York to a damn place where the only profession for immigrants is nursing.
Do a google search on the wealthiest cities in the world and see where those decaying cities in the DMV rank.

Do you have to be rude or being rude is part of your upbringing. What is wrong with disagreeing with me without going down the gutter?

I will have little to say to you but leave you with the following:

Loggy,

Cool down.  I do not hold briefs for Jericho Turnpike but you have raised some issues that have attracted my attention.

First, the link that you posted contains research done by only a news outlet - CNBC.  I will bet you that if you access research from better research organizations Virginia will not even be in the top ten for doing business in the United States.

Second, Jericho Turnpike  argued on cities and not states.  Now, tell me which city in Virginia ranks among the top ten cities in America in wealth?  Can you in all seriousness compare any city in Virgina to New York City, the home of Wall Street and San Francisco, the home of Silicon Valley?  Wan taye!!!

Third, I agree with Jericho Turnpike that the popular profession among immigrants in the DMV is nursing.  No disrespect to the nursing profession but there is hardly an African family in the DMC that does not have one or two nurses.

When I arrived in the USA a couple of decades ago, I lived in Silver Spring with my cousin.  He was a nurse and so was his wife.  They tried to get me into nursing too but I wanted no part of that.  I relocated to New York City and after a few years bagged an MBA in Finance.  Today, I have a lucrative job in Finance in NYC.

Look here, you can discredit the CNBC research as much as you can but until you, not me, provide a link  to your so-called "better research organizations, you are only here to blow enough vuvuzellas to distract me and other readers. Now take the challenge and provide us with a link. After providing your link, we can discuss your opinion on whether Sierra Leoneans here are mostly, or what have you, engaged in nursing jobs. And finally, this is the 4th time Virginia has been ranked  number one so make your case, bro. Talk is cheap!

As far as Jericho Turnpike, he or she is out of whack, too wishy washy.  Anyone with common sense or with knowledge of the DMV will not come up with an opinion this dumb.

"You must be out of your fre....king mind comparing
New York to a damn place where the only profession
for 'immigrants' is nursing
."

And as unfortunate as it is, you agreed with him.

KL,

Bra, there is no need for wam hart.  You are hurting yourself in this debate.  There is also no need for any intensive research to find out the wealthiest states and the wealthiest cities in America.

For you to argue against New York City being the wealthiest city in America tells exactly where your head has been all these years.  Additionally, where wealth is concerned, the states of New York and California dwarf Virginia easily.  This is a fact.  Google it for your yourself and don't tell us about one corny research that CNBC did.  There are more credible research available.

Also, for you to brag about decaying places of abode as Alexandria, Woodbridge, Dale City, Silver Spring, etc where, according to Jericho Turnpike, Nursing is the most attractive profession for immigrants, as the modern day Wall Street or Silicon Valley shows how much of a sick mind you have developed living in these United States.

BTW why should you feel insulted by Jericho Turnpike?  All my friends and relatives living in the DMV are either nurses or nurses aides.  I would also have been a nurse if I were living in the DMV.  Thank God I came to San Francisco where I studied Computer Engineering.

Bra, come to Silicon Valley in San Francisco where I work and get a real profession.  We innovate the world that you live in.

My head is ok, bosman, it is you that need to check yours. There are few things that are more frustrating than for grown men to read one thing and then interpret it to something else. The CNBC story headline stated clearly, "VIRGINIA LEADS NATIONAL RANKING AS TOP STATE FOR BUSINESS" and there you are telling me this:

"For you to argue against New York City
being the wealthiest city in America tells
exactly where your head has been all
these years".

Once again, you guys read and comprehend well so we can move on.

Borbor KL,

If you studied Logic, a branch of philosophy, in school, you would know that you can be guilty of something simply by implication.  In other words, a reasonable deduction can be made from an analytical construct without the writer objectively expressing what is being deducted.  This is exactly what you are guilty of in this debate.  Your exuberant praise of Virginia and foisting it as a place that is the best of the best in business, education and other adventures in life implicitly means that New York City cannot be the wealthiest city in America.

So, small borbor, you know that you are wrong.  Admit it and let's move on.  Many in New York City, the world's greatest city, would not trade it for any city in Virginia.  You know that very well.  I moved from New York City to San Francisco only because I was offered a scholarship to pursue a Master's degree in Computer Engineering.  Otherwise I would still have been in the great NYC.

Loggy,

When you read, try to comprehend.  I left New York City to pursue a Master's degree in San Francisco.  Does that mean that I am still pursuing it?  I graduated a long time ago and I am employed as a Computer Engineer in a prestigious firm in Silicon Valley.  No, I will not leave that to come to Virginia.  What else do you have to say?

Honestly, bro, I don't consider you being a serious fellow as far as this debate is concerned. You are all over the place, speaking out of both sides of your mouth and making things up as you go. You even make Donald Trump appears like child's play.  The following is just one of your little tricks or misconception:

"Let's face it, when it comes to competitiveness, culture,
diversity, education, population and wealth, Sierra Leoneans
in the DMV are top rated. We work hard, we play hard, and,
this is what makes us unique among the Sierra Leonean diaspora. (KL)

"Your exuberant praise of Virginia and foisting it as a place that is
the best of the best in business, education and other adventures in
life implicitly means that New York City cannot be the
wealthiest
city in America." (Silicon Valley)

See how you and others manipulated and changed the whole conversation just to come back and accuse me of things I never intended and then talk about logic?

Meanwhile, New York City is not the richest/wealthiest city in the United states, it is one of the richest/wealthiest. There are multiple factors to be considered before making such claim. And finally, ever wonder why New York City's population dips?

KL,

Troky wan box but ihn han short.

Before engaging in a debate with folks that are intellectually superior to you, go to any local high school or community college and study basic English Grammar.  You have been on this forum since its inception in 2008 yet you continue to write terrible English Grammar.  Does the frequent partying in the DMV have anything to do with this?

Second, your argument that New York City is not the wealthiest city in America plays right into the bigger problem of your dumbness and stupidity.  You need to take a course or two in civics.

New York City may house the wealthiest financial institutions and billionaire residents but by far is not the "wealthiest city" in the US. This is the misconception among those who disagrees with me. Like I said earlier, there are multiple factors to be considered and those who disagree with me hopefully will learn from this. Let the debate continues

But thanks to this King the misinformation that NYC is the wealthiest city in the US has been debunked. The jokers cannot handle the truth and they are back at their old tricks hoping that this King will disappear. Nice try, greengos!
