After all, if every economic issue is framed as a struggle between a hard-working white middle class and undeserving minorities, then workers of all shades will be left fighting for scraps while the wealthy withdraw further into their private enclaves - Barack Obama

What a difference two months make.  On the fourth of April, the day that His Excellency Julius Maada Bio was sworn in as president of Sierra Leone, Freetown was a smelly city known for its power outages.  That seems to be history now.  Since Monday, June 4, there has been a steady uninterrupted flow of electricity in the city.  Notwithstanding this, Freetown is on its way to becoming the cleanest city in West Africa.

Whereas APC's Freetown was characterized by filth and a strong smell of urine and human feces in all corners of the city, SLPP's Freetown has been transformed into a clean and healthy environment where any tourist would love to be.  For tourists and visitors, brand new luxury ferries will soon be running between Kissy and the Tagrin Ferry Terminal.

Indeed, big things are on the way.  President Bio's flagship free education program kicks in in September.  Children in all government-assisted schools will be attending school for free.  They will also be provided with two sets of uniforms and a pair of shoes.

Additionally, government intends to reintroduce the free meal program to all the schools across the country while also providing buses for every school.  Moreover, the inter-schools sports league that the APC government abolished will be reestablished.

PAOPA Salone go betteh, as the saying goes, is fast becoming a reality for all to see.
