Sierra leone politics has become so repugnant, an issue that even the 'die harders ' of the 2 parties are becoming confused and disorientated.
There's glaring evidence that these parties mean no good for the country.
We've witnessed several defections from these 2 parties in the past 30 years or so of politicians who felt aggrieved not for love of their country, but because they're pushed out of the power circle which they so craved to be in. Most of those who defected either formed another party or moved to an existing one.
However, it was unheard-of for ordinary members of the SLPP who are not holders of any position, be it executive or what have you to defect or even thinking of leaving the party.
The situation within our main opposition party, the SLPP is so dire that even the once 'see no wrong and hear no wrong ' supporters are feeling the urge to abandon the party. The power struggle in the party has caused serious exasperation that even our die hard Sengbe is contemplating forming another party.
His move can be classified as a patriotic one because his grievance has nothing to do with being pushed out of the power circle. Like many of us, he's coming to terms with the reality that these 2 parties can never move the country forward.
Kothor Sengbe, welcome to my world I hope you will not easily revert back to the old thinking.

The name of the "new" political party is: Progressive Peoples Party. It is DMK's idea, put forth yesterday. Are you game enough to join this party instead of your very own if her formation bears fruits? It will consist of PROGRESSIVES from both the SLPP, APC, and other parties now in existence, at home and in the diaspora. Can I add your name to the list when the time comes? "...Kothor Sengbe, welcome to my world. I hope you will not easily revert back to the old thinking..." EG Well EG, as you vey well know, I reside in the USA, so I cannot easily revert to the "old (way) of thinking" since I do not intend to be back on the ground until my retirement papers have been signed. When are you returning home? Soon or later?

Please do no such thing as adding my name to a party that has already desecrated its meaning before it is even formed. The fact that you mentioned including "progressives from both parties have disembowelled the real cause of breaking away from the grand old parties. There's no such thing as PROGRESSIVES in any of the 2 parties. They are simply full of duffers and greedy b**t**ds. If anyone contemplate forming a party, the thought of including even a town crier from any of the parties should never cross your mind otherwise you be rightly deemed as a replica of the two.
